Flash and Tayto Sandwiches

I'm working on my website today - part of my 3rd year project. It's a portfolio site to show some of the graphic design and photographic work I produce. I'm introducing flash elements - to dynamically upload images from my Flickr account. The API was causing me problems and 'wrecking my head' so I decided to have a quick break, a cup of tea and a tayto sandwich.

I'm learning new aspects of flash, design and actionscript and am having to especially control my ambitions for the design. As my Flash skills have been improving I have more ambitious plans for the style of the website but I need to persevere and implement a working site in a short time space.

Back to work.

Qik.com

I am enjoying reviewing the videos of my class on qik. The live up-streaming video from a Nokia mobile phone is an immediate publication of video footage shot on a mobile phone. People tend to be more informal when being filmed on a phone and the results are very natural and impromptu in comparison to footage shot on standard cameras. I'm waiting for my phone to be activated to the service and I hope to have a go at live streaming my own videos. I'm currently using a Sony Ericsson K800i which is not supported by qik but I also own a Nokia N73 which is supported by the service.

MVC not MVP

I'm currently in the process of working on a college assignment for a web content management system quite similar but much more basic than Blogger. I keep mistaking the term MVC for MVP. The most valuable asset I could have at the moment is some divine inspiration to finish this programming assignment. I usually need to incubate my brain from stressful programming by creating something in Illustrator or editing some photos in Photoshop. I have a tendency to almost drown myself in my preferred watering hole. Tonight, my distraction is to purge here in my first post on my new fandangle blog site.
